Mario Bonilla, D.D.S.
Dr. Bonilla graduated from the Paulista University of Brazil in 1993. During that same period, he was appointed to the position of Consul of Costa Rica in Brazil. He has solid experience in cosmetic dentistry procedures and is a pioneer of the Valplast technique in Latin America. Since 1999, he has owned his own dental center. He is a member of the Colegio de Cirujanos Dentistas de Costa Rica (College of Dental Surgeons of Costa Rica), No. 165-4099, and affiliated with the ADA under No. 171-365-329.
Dr. Bonilla participates in a weekly talk show on public television, covering new dental techniques such as immediate load dental implants. In accordance with Costa Rica's Social Responsibility Policy (SRP), he offers advice to callers about dental care issues.
He is certified in the placement of dental implants, with formal training in the United States at OCO Biomedical Corporate Headquarters; the world's leader in immediate load implants (popularly known as same-day implants).
Dr. Bonilla speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.
Erika Méndez, D.D.S.
Dr. Erika Méndez is the newest member of the New Smile Dental Group. She graduated from the University of Costa Rica, School of Dentistry, in 2004. Her degree is in general dentistry with professional expertise in all cosmetic dentistry procedures. She is also a member of the Colegio de Cirujanos Dentistas de Costa Rica (College of Dental Surgeons of Costa Rica) since 2005 under number 289 605. She, too, offers dental advice on public television in accordance with Costa Rica’s Social Responsibility Policy (SRP).Dr. Méndez speaks English, German and Spanish.
Dental Assistants
Adriana Córdoba, Jackeline Núñez, Vivian González
All our dental assistants are experienced with Dental Implants.
Adriana Córdoba and Jackeline Núñez graduated as Dental Assistants from the Universidad Véritas in 2008 and 2004 respectively.
Vivian González graduated as Dental Assistant from the Universidad de Costa Rica in 2006.
All our dental assistants speak English and Spanish.
Dental Laboratory
Our On-Site Dental Lab
Having our own on-site, advanced laboratory allows us to perform certain lab procedures, such as making porcelain crowns, bridges, and dentures on the premises. As a patient, you can benefit significantly by having reduced waiting time for this type of work while saving yourself a lot of money. It also means that laboratory technicians are available to work directly with you to make sure your tooth or teeth have the color match or shade you want.
Juan Carlos Borbón
Juan Carlos is the owner of our on-site dental lab, is one of ten Dental Technicians in Costa Rica accredited by the Colegio de Cirujanos Dentistas de Costa Rica (College of Dental Surgeons of Costa Rica) since 1988. Juan is truly an artist at making both porcelain and metal crowns. He attended formal training on dental implants in Costa Rica with Dr. Bonilla, sponsored by OCO Biomedical. He also participated at the First Congress on Implants in Central America and Panama.
Andrea Valerio and Karol Delgado
Andrea and Karol, dental technicians, specialize in working on Valplast and acrylics preparing dentures, temporaries, night guards, etc.They both graduated from the Colegio Universitario Cartago (C.U.C.) in Costa Rica, Andrea in 2006 and Karol in 2001.
Administration and Logistics
Milena Corrales, Customer Services Representative
Milena is your first voice contact with our Clinic. She is a third year student in Business Administration at the Universidad Metropolitana Castro Carazo. She attended a few courses on dentistry focused on implants and crowns, in order to better advise our patients, depending on their needs.Languages: English and Spanish.
Nathalia Blanco, Administrator
Nathalia is your first contact when you visit our Clinic. She graduated as a Psychologist from the Universidad Autónoma de Monterrey in Costa Rica in 2002.Nathalia speaks English and Spanish.
Rodrigo Rodríguez and Mercedes Sánchez, Transportation specialist & Housekeeper
Rodrigo is in charge of transporting our patients from their hotels to the clinic and back. He is friendly, responsible, and respectful.Mercedes is in charge of keeping our premises clean, being particularly careful with the disinfecting of the doctors’ instruments.
Roberta Wyss, Guest Care / Operations Manager
She has vast experience and expertise in administration and in coordinating logistics. Roberta welcomes our patients; gives them the corresponding documentation, and introduces our customers to the doctors and dental assistants. Roberta always looks for ways to make you feel comfortable and confident.She also coordinates the transfers from the hotel to the clinic and back and handles all the admin details (payments, legal documents for insurance companies, etc.).
Roberta speaks English, Spanish and French.
Lic. Jesus Gonzalez, Administrative Manager
Jesus graduated in Business Administration from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica in 2002. He manages and organizes the Admin part of the Clinic. He is always looking for ways to improve the clinic, ensuring we have the best possible organization.
